Advocate Motlogelwa holds the Bachelor of Law (B. JURIS) and Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degrees. He also holds a certificate in Programme in Project Management (PPM) and an Advanced Diploma in Public Administration (Adv. Dip in Public Admin), as well as a certificate in Urban and Regional Development Planning and Management from the Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS). He was admitted to the Johannesburg Society of Advocates in December 2016.

Prior to being called to the Bar, Adv. Motlogelwa served as a Municipal Manager, Administrator, Chief Director and Head of Department for both Local Government and Human Settlements Departments in the North-West Province for a combined period of 14 years. He also served as a member of the University of North West Council and as the Deputy Chairperson of Vuselela FET College Council and North-West Liquor Board. He is a general practitioner with particular experience and interest in constitutional, administrative and labour laws, governance and customary law, public interest, development and planning law.
