Matodzi Oscar Mudimeli

Prior to joining the Bar, Oscar practised as a candidate attorney in a general litigation firm. He served on the Bar Council Library Committee from 2022 to 2023 and on the Human Rights Committee from 2024 to 2025. Oscar is the Deputy Chairperson of the University of Venda Law Alumni Executive Committee. He served on an independent inquiry into racial and corruption allegations against the Group Chief Executive of Eskom, and was appointed Deputy Chairperson of a Committee of Inquiry by the MEC for Economic Development in Gauteng to investigate alleged corruption and unlawful activities at the Gauteng Liquor Board.

His practice spans administrative law, medical negligence, business rescue and insolvency, construction law, gambling and liquor law, labour law and local government. He has chaired multiple disciplinary and arbitration proceedings, and he appears in the Water Tribunal, the High Court, the Supreme Court of Appeal and the Constitutional Court.
