Bonita Meyersfeld

Renowned human rights lawyer and academic, Bonita was the Director of the Wits Centre for Applied Legal Studies and is editor of the SA Journal on Human Rights. Author of ‘Domestic Violence and International Law’, she founded Lawyers Against Abuse and was made a Knight of the National Order of Merit of France. Bonita played a key leadership role at oldest, leading human rights organisation in South Africa, raising over R46 million, overseeing more than 100 litigious cases, overseeing the production of 56 publications and raising the profile of the organisation both nationally and internationally.
